Seminar and Workshop at Aalto University

On 8 June 2026, EU Cotton organized a seminar and workshop with students from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. The activity took place at the university and focused on introducing European cotton to students through both information and creative practice.

Before the workshop, European cotton fabrics and yarns were sent to the students. These materials were used by the participants to design and create collections, which were then presented during the workshop. This gave students the opportunity to explore European cotton directly, understand its qualities and use it as a source of inspiration for their own creative work.

The seminar presented the EU Cotton program, its objectives and the importance of European cotton as a material connected with quality, origin and responsible production. The workshop then allowed students to translate this knowledge into design, demonstrating the creative potential of the material.

The activity was an important bridge between European cotton and fashion education. By engaging with students and future professionals, EU Cotton supported the development of awareness among young designers and highlighted the role that material choices can play in shaping the future of fashion.
