Press Event at Apollo Bar in Copenhagen
On 5 May 2026, EU Cotton organized a press event at Apollo Bar in Copenhagen, with the participation of representatives of the press and opinion leaders. The event was designed to present the program; its objectives and the key messages related to European cotton to an audience with the ability to communicate and amplify them further. During the event, participants were introduced to the identity of EU Cotton and to the role of European cotton as a material connected with quality, traceability, responsibility and contemporary fashion. Seminar and Workshop at the Copenhagen Academy of Fashion Design
On 5 May 2026, EU Cotton organized a seminar and workshop with students from the Copenhagen Academy of Fashion Design. The activity took place at the premises of the academy and focused on introducing European cotton to the next generation of fashion designers. Prior to the workshop, European cotton fabrics were sent to the students, allowing them to work directly with the material and explore its creative possibilities. Using these fabrics, the students designed outfits which were presented during the workshop, transforming the activity into a practical and creative experience. The seminar offered the opportunity to present the EU Cotton program, its objectives and the value of European cotton as a material with quality, origin and strong potential for fashion design. At the same time, the workshop encouraged students to engage with the material through practice, experimentation and creativity. This educational activity was particularly important for the program, as it connected European cotton with young designers and future fashion professionals. It highlighted the importance of responsible material choices and demonstrated how European cotton can inspire contemporary design while supporting a stronger connection between production, education and creativity.
Workshop on Creativity & Sustainability with the New Generation of Designers, 2026
The workshop held as part of the collaboration with Beckmans College of Design demonstrated in practice how sustainability can be creatively integrated into contemporary fashion design. Following the fashion show and the presentation of the themed collection made from European sustainable cotton, the workshop brought together graduating students from Beckmans as well as students from other institutions, creating an open space for the exchange of ideas and experiences. Participants had the opportunity to discuss practical approaches to sustainable production, the role of materials, and the importance of responsible design thinking. The workshop strengthened the ongoing dialogue around the role of young creators in shaping a more transparent, ethical, and environmentally conscious fashion industry, highlighting the power of education and collaboration.
Seminar on the Future of Sustainable Fashion in Stockholm, 2026
The seminar held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in collaboration with Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, served as an important meeting point for dialogue on the future of sustainable fashion. Building on the themed collection created by eight graduating students using European sustainable cotton, the seminar focused on key issues such as supply chain transparency, responsible production practices, and the role of innovation in design. The event, which followed the fashion show organized in cooperation with Stockholm Fashion District and EU Cotton, offered participants the opportunity to exchange views, gain insight into current industry challenges, and explore ways in which fashion can contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future.

On September 10, 2025, students of the AALTO University Fashion School presented unique creations with European Sustainable Cotton, in a workshop and seminar that combined inspiration, learning and interactive discussion about the future of sustainable fashion.The EU COTTON programme made this special event possible in collaboration with the school.Inspiration, innovation and sustainability highlight the future of fashion.
Highlights from the Press Event in Stockholm 2025
Pictures from the EU COTTON press event, successfully held in Stockholm, in a special place: the restaurant of the National Museum of Stockholm.After the welcome drink in the museum’s “Garden of Statues” hall, the 40 guests and the EU COTTON team, together with the Greek Embassy’s OSE A, went to the restaurant where the presentations-speeches on European Sustainable Cotton were held and dinner was served, after the maitre d’ and the chef presented the dishes to the attendees.The presentation speech by Maria Soxbo, journalist, author and dynamic sustainability advocate in Sweden, provided useful data on the fashion and sustainability sector, which perfectly integrated the presentations of the EU COTTON team and clearly highlighted the real value of European sustainable cotton production for the fashion industry.The evening ended with interesting discussions at the tables and during the guests’ departure.

Highlights from the recent EU COTTON Press Event in Copenhagen
The recent EU COTTON Press Event took place on June 3rd, with great success in the heart of Copenhagen, bringing together stakeholders from the textile sector, sustainability advocates, and media representatives. The event was hosted at the historic Kunsthal Charlottenborg, home to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Guests were welcomed with a reception in the courtyard of the venue, located right next to the iconic Nyhavn canal — one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks.
