From 21 to 23 September 2026, professionals from the fashion and textile sector, sustainability experts, communication specialists and media representatives from Sweden and Denmark visited Greece to learn more about European cotton production.
The study trip took place in the regions of Messolonghi and Nafpaktos and included visits to cotton fields, a ginning facility and a spinning mill.
Participants had the opportunity to follow the journey of cotton from cultivation to processing and yarn production, while learning more about farming practices, traceability, sustainability and the different stages of the cotton value chain.
The visit created a valuable opportunity for direct exchange between European cotton producers and representatives of the Nordic fashion and textile sector, helping strengthen awareness and understanding of European cotton as a responsibly produced natural fibre.
